1. Extensive Broadway background — Lighting designer for "Zoot Suit" and co-designer for "Tango Pasion".  Co-designed five productions for City Center's Encores! Series, (staged concert versions of vintage musicals).  Associate lighting designer for "Show Boat", "The Life" and "La Cage Aux Folles", including overseeing national and international tours of "Show Boat".  For each major Broadway musical in which I have been involved, I supervised and facilitated the custom engineering, technical and logistical aspects of the lighting design.

  3. New York City Opera — As resident lighting designer, designed and supervised the lighting for the second largest repertory opera company in the U.S, with 14 to 20 productions in rotating repertory.

  5. Extensive regional theater experience — Includes designs for the Guthrie Theater, Mark Taper Forum, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, South Coast Repertory, Denver Center Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Alley Theatre, Missouri Repertory Theatre.

Disney to Whitney Museum to NEA to Las Vegas — Designed a live touring show for Disney, integrated with special effects, lasers and video; created a performance piece about lighting for the Whitney Museum of American Art; panelist for two years for the National Endowment for the Arts and twice served as panelist for the TCG Designer Fellowship Awards; Las Vegas and concert tours for Paul Anka, The Carpenters, Diana Ross and Loggins and Messina.

Background in performing arts and technology — Thirty years as a lighting designer, 16 years of classical piano study, including 4 years at Oberlin Conservatory, 8 years of classical ballet study.  As a high end user, work with manufacturers and developers on prototypes and advancements in lighting technology and control systems; authored the operation manual for one of the first major computer lighting control consoles, the Strand Light Palette 1.
